Most people arrive in Sumatra by plane at Medan, Kuala Namu Airport. If you want to go from Medan to Ketambe, you have to go to Kutacane first. This is possible by small plane or by public minibus, public taxi or private taxi.
By air
Planes to Kutacane fly only twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. For actual prices and schedules, please contact Susi Air or ask gandi.
By road
The cheapest option is to take a minibus. You can also choose to go by public or private taxi. You go from Medan to Kutacane and from Kutacane to Ketambe. From Kutacane you need to change buses (labi-labi). The last Labi to Ketambe will depart at 17.30.
